Homework: Write a 5 paragraph essay on one career.  Research about it 15 to 20 minutes. Then write a 5 paragraph essay on Drive (share with me) demonstrating you know the answers to most of these kinds of questions: What kind of work (what would you do), pay, hours of work, do you work alone or with others, etc.  Then rewrite it in your best cursive for cursive test.

Remember you are being graded by me on grouping like ideas, proper punctuation, and flow as well as information.

This is two assignments.  One for cursive.  One for writing skills.

Homework in Kym's Class Persuasion Essay

On Wednesday, everyone should have a thesis and at least the same number of facts as you need body paragraphs (two less than your total paragraphs.)

In total:
5th grade will need a five paragraph essay
6th grade will need a six  paragraph essay
7th grade will need a seven paragraph essay
8th grade will need an eight paragraph essay

On Thursday, you need one of your body paragraphs. By Monday, you will need all of your body paragraphs.  On Tuesday, you will need to have the intro.  On Wednesday, you will need to have your conclusion.

Everyone needs to do one children's book. 

• Minimum 7 pages not including cover or title page.  
• Must have at least 5 instances of characters talking with correct punctuation
• Must be appropriate for K-2nd grade to read
• Must be illustrated
• Must be turned in printed.

This project is worth 200 points.  Graded on creativity(30pts), writing(100 pts), editing (50pts), appropriateness (20pts).

Homework for Kym's Class Due Monday the 28th

Everyone's Science Research paper is due.  A printed copy is due to Ben and I will read your Drive copy.  Remember, this is worth 600 points in my class.  Grades are going home to your parents on February 1st.  Essentially, the writing grade is the Science Research paper grade.

Also, big cursive test on Wednesday.  Any letters missed will require 10 copies per day for the next 7 days.  There 26 letters in the alphabet.  You need to know both capital and lower case letters.  That is 52 letters you are responsible for knowing.  You should be practicing.  Everyone needs work on this. Fifty percent of your cursive grade will be the grade you get on this test.  It is important!
